After shooting at The Range 702 in Las Vegas, I need to clean my Glock 19 pistol.
In this video I walk through the process I follow when cleaning my pistol. Below the video are links to the tools and supplies I use when cleaning my guns.
Today’s Video
I hope you enjoy this video; it was recorded in Hi Def, so I recommend watching it in full screen mode:
Gear I Used:
FIXMat Handgun Cleaning Mat
By using this mat, I don’t have to worry about my table top getting nasty or damaged while cleaning my guns.
Nylon Gun Cleaning Brush
I find this cleaning brush indispensable while cleaning my guns. This brush has nylon bristles, but there are also brushes with wire bristles available for cleaning really tough carbon build up!
Safety Glasses
I don’t want to worry about splattering the cleaning solvents into my eyes or onto my glasses so I use my shooting safety glasses while cleaning my guns.
These inexpensive gloves are useful in a first aid kit as well as for cleaning chores.
Once I’m done cleaning my guns, I can just discard the gloves and I don’t have grease or chemicals on my hands.
I’ve also noticed that the techs that service my truck use similar gloves.
Why get your hands nasty when you don’t have to!
Gun Cleaning Patches
Gotta have patches while cleaning guns.
9 mm Pistol Cleaning Kit
There are many great pistol cleaning kits, this one is effective and inexpensive.
Frog Lube
This stuff is not inexpensive, but I’ve heard good things about Frog Lube and use it on all of my guns.
Cotton Swabs
Swabs are very helpful in applying cleaning solvent as well as the lube. There are some great long-handled swabs available, but I find that regular bathroom swabs work well for me.
