The Pre-Trip Inspection – A Daily Routine

At the beginning of each driving day, I perform a pre-trip inspection of both my tractor and trailer.

In addition to a visual inspection of the air lines, power pigtail, and tires, I check to ensure that the kingpin and trailer tandem handles have not been pulled by anyone.

I check the coolant, oil, and washer fluid levels and add as needed.

Not shown in this video is checking tire pressure. Doing this while the tires are cold is the proper time to do it, I only do this a couple of times a week. I visually check the tire condition; sometimes, several times per day.
