Nevada Into SE Oregon

Today we’ll be driving from northern Nevada into SE Oregon on US Highway 95.

We’ll start out at the TA Travel Center near Mill City, Nevada and head north on US Highway 95 through McDermitt on the Nevada/Oregon border.

Desolate Southeastern Oregon

From McDermitt, it’s 101 miles, or 162 kilometers, to the next town; Jordan Valley. That’s how desolate this part of Oregon is!

Foggy Cabbage Hill

We stopped at the Flying J Travel Center in La Grande, Oregon because of the foggy conditions on Cabbage Hill being reported by the Oregon Dept. of Transportation.

Since we don’t have to get to Hermiston tonight, there’s no sense in driving that windy downgrade at night in icy and foggy conditions.

As it turns out, it’ll still be foggy during the day!
