Today’s Journey
After an unplanned day off at the Avondale Pilot Travel Center near Phoenix, we’re ready to pick up our next load and start heading towards Tacoma, Washington.
First, we’ve got to hook an empty trailer in Buckeye. Next, we’ll head to Goodyear to swap the empty trailer for a loaded one.
Then we’ll head west across the Sonoran Desert into California:
Double Camera Views
During this unplanned day off, I walked to a nearby Best Buy and bought the new GoPro Hero5 Black camera I was planning to buy when I got home!
Today is the first time I’ve recorded with two cameras at the same time.
I’m using my old video camera, a GoPro Hero3+, to shoot in-cab video as I narrate while at the shipper.
I’ve got the new video camera, a GoPro Hero5 Black pointed forward to record our drive.
I figure it’ll take a few days to get proficient with recording with two cameras, as it’s not always necessary to record with more than one camera at a time.

Can We Make it to Portland by Tomorrow?
We’ll continue our journey to Tacoma as we head north through the Mojave Desert, Bakersfield, Fresno, Merced, Modesto and Stockton, California before stopping for the night near Lodi.
I’m thinking that I’d like to make it to Portland by tomorrow night; but, is this realistic?
