Oranges make for a quick, easy and healthy snack when you’re on the road. You can buy them individually or in a bag.
I like to slice up two or three at a time, putting the pieces of each sliced up orange into a quart size freezer bag and store them in my refrigerator.
I eat the slices as part of my breakfast, with soup or a sandwich for lunch, or for dessert after dinner.

Trail mix, cheese sticks, dried fruits, jerky sticks. only problem with jerky is that it is hard to find the good ones that are not dripping with fat. We would make up large batches of this stuff when we were traveling back and for from Arizona to Kentucky, that way the only time that we would have to stop is to get the essentials, gas, ice for the cooler, drinks, and dinner, we also kept a loaf of bread and peanut butter and jellies, along with cheese crackers for lunches in the ice chest.
I have most of those things; cheese and crackers with summer sausage is one of my favorite snacks when I take a break.
I really like to pick up regional favorites as I travel around the country, such as Amish made cheeses!
I’m still working on some summer sausage I picked up in upstate New York last month and I just bought some more in Yakima, WA.
